CRPC Executive Committee
The CRPC Executive Committee is comprised of representatives from each Parish within the Capital Region. It is the duty of the Executive Committee to properly address the planning function of the Commission, both internally and externally. Specific functions of the Executive Committee are to serve as a conduit for information and ideas between the Commission and staff; to act as the Financial Committee of the Commission; provide direction to the staff and to develop short and long-range planning to be presented to the Commission for consideration.
The Executive Committee shall operate for the benefit of the Commission through duties, powers, and obligations usually imposed upon Executive Committees. The Committee will discharge the powers generally reserved for the entire Commission only when specifically directed to do so by the Commission. They will also act as the Executive Director search committee when needed.
CRPC is the only organization that convenes local government leaders to establish priorities for the Capital Region that unlock access to federal funding for transportation, planning, and economic development projects. CRPC provides non-partisan, data-driven analyses to benefit regional decision-making.
Capital Region Planning Commission members participate in regional decision-making. Local towns, cities, and parishes are invited to be voting members of the Commission. Membership provides access to technical expertise and training. It assures your local governing authority as a seat at the table to determine priorities in planning, transportation, economic development, and resiliency planning.
